POST ART EXCHANGE STARTS NOW :)

HERE IS AN EXAMPLE EMAIL OF WHAT ALL THE PARTICIPANTS FOR THE FIRST POST ART EXCHANGE ARE RECEIVING.... IF YOU DON'T RECEIVE THIS BY EARLY TOMORROW LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW :)
THANKS TO ALL AND LET THE FUN BEGIN!

Hello Everyone!

I'm super excited to finally begin the very First Post ART Exchange! PLEASE READ THIS EMAIL THROUGH COMPLETELY SO THAT YOU WILL UNDERSTAND HOW IT WILL ALL WORK.

We have 10 participants total. Since this group is small we will be attempting to touch all postcards at least once with each participant at the end receiving one postcard that they never touched to keep. It took me a little bit of time to devise how this was actually going to work but I have figured out the easiest solution.

HOW THIS WORKS....

You will send every postcard including the first one you make to this person...

EXAMPLE
212 RUN WILD DRIVE
BEREA KY 40403

Each participant has a different address.
So every postcard you receive will be from the same person (which is obviously not the person you are sending postcards to).

You will know to stop the cycle and keep the post card when you see this persons name in the bottom right hand corner...

JANE EXAMPLE DOE

So you will be altering a total of 8 postcards that will come through your mail but you will only have made one which is the first postcard you have sent.
At the end everyone will keep a postcard that they didn't help create... leaving you with a one of a kind masterpiece!! neat huh?

RULES....
  1. You will have 3 days (starting from the day you receive it) to send out each post card... if you are slacking just message me
  2. Please don't let postcards pile up and send in bulk... it just makes more work for someone else.
  3. You must alter each card you receive in some way. It can be as simple as a scribble, a stamp or a sticker
  4. You must completely make the first postcard you send
  5. Have fun and enjoy the process... There really is no wrong to what you do just keep the postcards moving!
  6. The postcard you create must have your name in clear view up in the bottom right hand corner (this allows us to know when the cycle ends)
  7. When you alter a postcard don't cover or remove the name that is in the bottom right hand corner
TIME....

I am hoping to have this whole cycle finished by November 10th (which actually gives around 3 extra days for anyone who is slacking)
I know some of you are worried about the time issue but really this is all for fun. You won't get punished or kicked out if your running behind!
I am only giving the time limits so that everyone knows to move at the same pace, to keep the flow.

POSTCARD CRITERIA...

The postcard you create only has to be created by you! That's it I don't have any limitations on what you create... if I did that we wouldn't have interesting outcomes. Plus this is also the first exchange so if need be we will see what works and what doesn't. It really will be a creative learning experience! JUST MAKE SURE TO PUT YOUR NAME IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT HAND CORNER.

As for altering the postcards you receive.... keep it simple but interesting. Don't over-complicate this! You could glue a tiny piece of paper to it or leave a coffee stain! It is that simple! Just make sure you send it to the next person. ALSO PLEASE DO NOT COVER THE NAME IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT HAND CORNER.

MAILING AND SENDING POSTCARDS...

Depending on what kind postcard you create you might run into issues with mailing. Also the address is going to have to be changed each time you receive the postcard.
So here is a solution...
Use a mailer envelope or box to send your postcard (this will protect the work and allow the next person to easily change the address with a blank label sticker)
You can always carefully open the envelope and tape it back shut so that you don't have to use another mailer.
You can also be creative with your mailer as well or make it from something laying around you studio.

If it cost a bit for you to send think of it as and investment towards and awesome work of art that no one else will ever own!

FOLLOW SHARE BLOG...

I encourage you to take these postcards and use them to your advantage! Take before and after shots for a blog post! Instagram them! This will make it more interesting to see the process and change these postcards will go through. I will be posting every postcard I receive!

I will also have a badge /button for your blog by the end of this week for all of you who are participating!

You also can send me your badge ad blog button for a free sponsor spot on my blog for the month of October and November... Just contact me!

THANKS...

Last but not least I want to thank everyone who is participating! You making this a reality shows that anything is possible in the world of art! I am just so excited to receive the first card! This is one of those memories you will have for life... something you can tell you friends and family about! If you have any questions feel free to email me back!

  2. ALSO IT MAY TAKE TILL THE END OF NOVEMBER TO GET THE POSTCARDS THROUGH... I DIDN'T CONSIDER THE FACT THAT IT TAKES MORE THAN A FEW DAYS FOR A POSTCARD TO ARRIVE
